Web Mail is an online feature that allows you to check your email from anywhere in the world if you have an Internet connection. This mini-manual is for our clients' use concerning the WebMail program installed in their account. Login and Session Management: To Log into the Web Mail service, go to: Where $domain.com is the domain name of the email address. Session timed logouts have been instituted for additional security; the time out duration is configured in the User Preferences screen. Settings and Preferences: At the top of the User Preferences screen, you have the ability to edit the address posted in the From field, create or edit a signature of static text in the Stationery field, change a password and view the log events associated with the account. In addition to entering personal information in the User Preferences screen, several areas of customization are available to you. 1. Display
Preferences When setting up the initial mailbox preferences, do not click the "Install" link for email notification until a calendar has been setup, else the notification functionality will not be available for 24 hours. Composing and Sending Messages: Included in this Web Mail is the ability to send messages directly to other addresses on the server. Additional functionality in composing and sending messages includes Spell Check and a mail attachment functionality. Folder Management: Customer folders can be created within the mailbox. These folders can be renamed or deleted. The content of the mailboxes can be downloaded and saved as a zip file. The contents of the zip files are the actual mail files for each message. Also, the index can be checked and the folders re-indexed for improved performance. Finally, all the contents of a message folder can be marked as Read to ease management of the data in the folders. Filter Management: This Web Mail has the ability to filter out undesirable mail messages, or establish a procedure for handling certain messages that arrive in the mailbox (e.g., messages from a particular address or with a particular subject are automatically dumped into a custom "Junk" folder). Once executed, the filter will also act on messages within the mailbox that contain keywords or a character string, allowing for automated message management or clean up of the folders. Searching: Searching and Advanced Searching capabilities exist in the Web Mail program. On the home page, a simple character string search is available. In addition to searching all the content of the mailbox for specific strings, searches can be carried out on any of the following:
Advanced search is available on the Advanced Search Page, where three character strings can be searched simultaneously. Searching for the same criteria as those listed above, the search can be modified to include a search for a field above that either...
...the character string given. This is particularly useful if extensive archiving of emails is not well organized. Calendar: The calendar appointments and reminders can be configured to send messages to listed email addresses. The calendar can be viewed by:
